This year, Chevrolet is celebrating a century of building quality cars. When you purchase a new Chevy vehicle, your car will continue in the tradition of Chevrolet’s automotive excellence. Over the decades, Chevy has introduced many different cars that have become icons in the car world. From the rugged Suburban to the stylish Bel Air, many of Chevrolet’s classic cars are still cherished by car enthusiasts today. Let’s retrace the history of some of Chevy’s most iconic cars.

1936 Suburban

The Chevrolet Suburban made its debut in 1936. This first prototype of the modern SUV featured a steel body and space for up to eight passengers. Chevrolet crafted the first Chevrolet Suburban as an alternative to their station wagon models. With its durable construction and powerful engine, the 1936 Chevrolet Suburban was fully equipped for adventures off of the beaten path.

1953 Corvette

The Chevrolet Corvette is a legendary American sports car. This sleek and stylish vehicle first hit the streets in 1953. Over the years, Chevrolet’s engineers fine-tuned the performance of the Corvette. By 1955, the Corvette was equipped with a V8 engine and lightweight body parts. The Corvette quickly swept the worldwide racing scene, becoming a top pick for racing enthusiasts.

1955 Bel Air

The 1955 Bel Air is one of the most recognizable classic cars in Chevrolet’s history. This stylish vehicle had striking features, such as hardtop convertible roof. Chevrolet offered the Bel Air with a range of engine choices and accessories. In its first year, sales of the Bel Air reached record numbers.
